Wintjiri Wiru

Wintjiri Wiru, meaning 'beautiful view out to the horizon' in the local Pitjantjatjara language, is a breathtaking cultural storytelling experience that brings to life a chapter of the ancestral Mala story through choreographed drones, lasers and projections that illuminate the night sky.

Wintjiri Wiru was developed in partnership with senior Anangu from Kaltukatjara and Mutitjulu. We are grateful for the contribution of the Wintjiri Wiru Working Group members who have been there every step of the way, guiding Ayers Rock Resort.

Rene Kulitja, a member of the Wintjiri Wiru Anangu Consultation Group, singer and narrator, said: "This chapter of the Mala story has been passed to us from generation to generation. Our ancestors walked this Country, carried this story, and shared this story through inma, our songs and ceremonies.

"We are thinking about our future. We are looking forward and have created Wintjiri Wiru for the next generation, for our grandchildren."

We are honoured to share the cultural importance of the Mala story with our guests in the spiritual heart of Australia, and acknowledge the role the Elders from the Wintjiri Wiru Working Group have played in bringing this experience to life.
