Presenting as a tale within a tale, this Australian film follows Dayindi (Jamie Gulpilil), a young Aboriginal warrior, as he wanders the wilderness hunting for eggs. Dayindi hears a story told by his brother Minygululu (Peter Minygululu), which echoes his own situation. A man who lusts after his brother's wife, the character in the tale kills a member of another tribe and faces dire consequences, with the story's ending reverberating in Dayindi's own life.

Uluru-Kata Tjuta National Park Activities

Head out to the Uluru-Kata Tjuta National Park Cultural Centre on Thursday 6 July to celebrate NAIDOC Week.

Sit around waru (fire) and experience Anangu culture. Have a yarn with local Anangu, discover traditional practices and learn about Tjukurpa - the philosophy of Anangu life.

Throughout the day there are displays of traditional working tools for watiku (men) and minymaku (women), and kids activities to entertain the tjitji (children)!

Across every generation, our elders have played, and continue to play an important role and hold a prominent place in our communities and families. Learn about our Anangu Elders and the work they have done on country.

Experience a traditional dance ceremony, proudly presented by Maruku Arts.

Chat with Anangu and National Parks staff, and share sweet and savoury snacks provided by the Ininti Cafe.
