Jodi & Ken's Wedding - November 2014
Due to our passion for travel we have continued to holiday as much as possible and in mid 2014 we booked a holiday to Uluru as it’s a place that we have both always wanted to see and learn more about. Not long after we booked the holiday we realised that this would be the perfect place to tie the knot and made the decision to elope.
As soon as I made the initial enquiry with the resort about having our wedding there I received the most helpful service from the Events team at Voyages and Ayers Rock Resort, in particular Rosie Blackmoore our wedding co-ordinator and Lisa Hatzimihail our photographer were just amazing. Rosie & Lisa helped us every step of the way with all of our little quirky requests and Rosie even helped us organise tours and dinners outside of our wedding package. The entire experience was flawless and so much credit is due to them.
We began our wedding day with a Desert Awakenings tour which involved an early morning trip out to the desert to watch the sunrise over Uluru and Kata Tjuta, we then walked around part of the base of Uluru and visited the nearby cultural centre, our tour guide Taine Davison was full of knowledge and shared so much with us, it helped to make the tour even more special.
Upon our return to the resort we shared a couples massage at the Red Ochre Spa, we were greeted by the Spa Manager, Kaye Williamson and then handed over to our therapists who were both amazing and did such a great job in relaxing us.
Both Ken and I saw each other for the first time in the reception of the hotel before Rosie gave us a private transfer to a special lookout where Meredith was waiting for us, we said our vows with Uluru in the background and immediately after were served champagne by our own personal waiter Michael.
Chris Hill and Lisa Evans from Uluru Camel Tours were both amazing, from the second we arrived we had their undivided attention and they even let us use their newly restored stage coach for some of our photos. They worked with Lisa, (our photographer) to ensure that all of our crazy and quirky photo ideas were achievable and the outcome was incredible.
We are forever grateful to all the people who went above and beyond to make our day completely flawless for us.
